Info on how the European Magic Formula list is created

Finally I will give some more information on how the European Magic Formula lists are created.
Before I got a message about once a month on wich stockscreener I use, or how the list is created.
Since the move here it has gone up enormously. I now get the same question about every 2
days.
I'm sorry, but I can't help you find a stockscreener for European stocks, well at least not affordable for us amateur investors. I have been looking for it from the time I started this blog. But all I could find are fundamental screeners for US stocks or technical analysis screeners for European stocks.
I use the screener provided by my online broker. It seems to be quit accurate. I did tests from time to time checking the data provided. I didn't find any flaws in it. Well I did but they where always quit obvious and always on UK stocks. I believe something went wrong when calculating the Pound Sterling to Euro. When this happened I just erased them from the lists.

If someone uses a free or affordable stock screener for European stocks please let me know. You can do it by using the Contact form .

For how I create the lists:
I use option 2 that is described in "The little book that beats the market" on page 135.

I will not provide the details because I am of the believe that it isn't mine to give away. Joel Greenblatt created the Magic Formula, for that I believe it's only fair that the way to get the formula is to read the book. It costs about 20$ or 20 euro. It is funny insightful and really entertaining, even if you already know something about investing.

By looking at what page the formula is found I have found I point to exercise wich I have forgotten about. It is point 8: to send Joel Greenblatt a thank you e-mail. That is something that I will do today!
